Solving the Problem
Opportunity: College students
have difficulty organizing and keeping up with all of their assignment due
dates, whether that be on a calendar or a list.
I believe a solution to my
problem would be a website where all professors are required to submit their assignment
deadlines, project due dates, exam dates and times—anything students need to
submit. Students would then be able to log into the site and click the classes
they are enrolled in, and the assignments would auto populate onto a calendar and
a to-do list in chronological order. The students would then be able to see everything
due and when for all of their classes. Additionally, if any due date changes,
the professors would be required to go into the system and change the date,
which would automatically update the calendar and to-do list. Students would
also be able to add their own personal assignments that may not be assigned,
such as readings or study times. That way, everything for classes is
consolidated onto one platform that is updated by their professors.

ReplyDeleteI LOVED this idea! I know I often forget to do assignments or even leave them til last minute because I didn't even know they were a thing. This would help organize my life and my college work so well and would definitely improve my grades! It would be even better if I got notifications on my phone about assignments due atleast 24 hours before!

ReplyDeleteI think this is a wonderful idea as it would make it much easier to keep up with each class individually to stay on top of all deadlines. This combined with Canvas would provide an easy way for all students to succeed in college, especially first year students. As a second year myself, I have still had some issues keeping up with deadlines so I would be all in on this idea. I don't know if professors would agree to do it as well as Canvas which could make it difficult to implement, but I feel like I am speaking for many people in saying I hope this can be achieved one day as it is a great idea. Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteLooking back from what I previously posted I said that canvas sending notification would act as a means of mitigating disorganization as a whole. Your solution that you provide honestly acts as a real solution to the answer to my question. My only thing is that the interface should also be able to send notifications to the student so that they are constantly reminded about their assignments.
